Mobile Phones – LG Launches First Android Smartphone
A fresh smartphone contender is now firmly on the horizon after LG released its first ever Android smartphone to the mobile phone market. The birth of the LG InTouch Max GW620 has seen LG Electronics seek to bring “apps to the masses.”
As an Android-powered smartphone, the LG InTouch Max is to have connectivity to its database of around 20,000 applications via the Android Market – giving it a welcome platform with which to build from.
There is a fear that LG has entered the smartphone game just a little too late, but its 5-line QWERTY touchscreen keyboard will be as efficient and easy to use as the best-selling HTC models.
Not only is it sleek and approachable, the LG InTouch Max GW620 also boasts a 5.0 megapixel digital camera complete with LED flash. With a slim 1.2mm design, it will surprise many UK consumers due to the fact that it also houses a 3″ touchscreen and its slide-out keyboard.
The screen is pretty limited button-wise when the keyboard is shut away, and it does give the impression of being a slightly dumbed down Android device in comparison to some of the latest HTC and Samsung smartphones.
One of the most popular developments on the latest mobiles and smartphones is a direct link to social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter. The LG InTouch Max GW620 allows users to send direct messages from their phone with instant ease.
Whilst far from being the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing smartphone on the market, LG hopes that its slightly lower price will attract casual mobile phone users to consider entering the smartphone domain.
