Hanne Gaby Odiele Shows Off Her Street Style Smarts

Hanne Gaby Odiele spent 2014 giving lessons in street style and has become almost more known for her wardrobe between shows than her actual treks down the runway. “When my outfit aligns with my attitude in the moment, it will trigger something inside of me, and then I just know,” the model informed Vogue back in September.

There’s something simultaneously strategic and happenstance about her off-the-runway looks, cooked up with a healthy dose of confidence, even when sporting what on others would come across as a hodgepodge of mismatched mayhem. The Belgian stunner recently admitted to Dazed that her outfits usually involve some level of spontaneity. “For example, I started wearing a bandana a few years ago because I couldn’t find a scarf on my way out from my apartment and it was a really cold day,” she confessed. “To be honest, I looked like a bank robber, but it’s still one of my best-loved looks because it felt real.”

Clearly, we’re not alone in our admiration of Hanne’s fashion sense on the asphalt as she was your pick for best street style in the latest edition of the tFS Style Awards. To mark her win, we’ve compiled a collection of her best street style moments from the past year. Get ready to take notes.
