Maserati GranTurismo Sport: Built Around Safety and Personalization
Safety was of course one of the most important aspect Maserati engineers took in consideration while developing the GranTurismo Sport with the goal to built a vehicle employing the latest safety technology possible.
For what concerns active safety, the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) was designed to maintain the car’s overall stability under multiple road and driving conditions. This system works together with ABS anti-lock brakes and ASR traction control to stop the wheels from locking under hard braking. It is enhanced by hydraulic braking assistance (HBA) whether the high torque delivered by the engine is always under careful control.
The front lights integrate washers boast xenon technology tooffer superb visibility at night time. To make the car easy to spot, the Day Time Running Light system illuminates a series of LEDs whether, to complete the GranTurismo Sport’s innovative lighting package, a sensor automatically activates the headlights.
New front parking sensors come standard in the Granturismo Sport, which identify the most dangerous objects preventing the front bumper from costly damage. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) fitted in the new GranTurismo monitors and displays individual tire pressures and a warning light on the instrument panel alerts the driver when falling below optimal pressure.
Passive safety is characterized by a series of airbags which, on the GranTurismo Sport, are improved with dual-stage technology as well as new generation airbags for passengers. An extensive research has beenperformed to integrate the side bags into the new one piece sport seats. Together with the curtain airbags, the new side airbags provide excellent crash protection.
Maserati is renowned for its personalization program that is unlike any other and that has been developed to satisfy the individual taste of each owner. The range of finishes and options available can be tailored to satisfy even the most demanding clients and taste thanks to the high level of details and craftsmanship in every car built.
