Lamborghini Murcielago is a sports car manufactured by the super car maker Lamborghini. This high-performance two-door car has two seats. Powered by Lamborghini V12 engine, Murcielago is the flagship car of Lamborghini. In Spanish language, the word Murcilago means bat. The latest and probably the last version of Murcielago is LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. Lamborghini is expected to replace the Murcielago model in 2012. The super car maker sells Murcielago LP640 in India at the price of Rs. 3 crore.
Murcielago has overall length of 4610 mm, overall width of 2058 mm and overall height of 1135 mm. The car, with wheel base of 2665 mm, has ground clearance of 135 mm. It has boot space of 140 liter and kerb weight of 1665 kg. The 6496 cc engine of the car delivers maximum power of 548PS @8000rpm and maximum torque of 660Nm @6000rpm. The car offers mileage of 4.8 km/liter on highways, mileage of 3.1 km/liter on city roads and overall mileage of 4 km/liter.
Murcielago has various features like power windows, power door locks, power steering, traction control, immobilizer, cup holders, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, central locking, steering adjustment, tachometer, front fog lights, rear defroster, leather seats, power seats and CD player. The super car is also equipped with safety related features like anti-lock braking system, driver air-bags and passenger air-bags.
Lamborghini Murcielago is sold in various colors in India including arancio atlas, bianco isis, giallo evros, grigio avlon, oro adonis, viola ophelia, arancio ishtar, blu hera, giallo orion, nero aldebaran, rosso andromeda, azzurro aquarius, blu nova, grigio antares and nero pegaso.
Other products of Lamborghini sold in the Indian market include Gallardo, Gallardo Spyder and Gallardo Superleggera. Lamborghini is also going to launch accessories under its brand in the Indian market. These will be mostly multi-media accessories. The company is likely to sell products like computer backpacks, i-Phone, BlackBerry, notebook and camera cases. The products will be sold through lifestyle retail stores spread across India. Lamborghini will sell its accessories through its India distributor MCC Group, which has already tied up with retail chains like Shopper’s Stop, Reliance, Croma, eZone and Hotspot for the purpose.
