Diecast Lamborghini Reventon
Lamborghini is noted for being a luxury car and their latest offering takes it to the extreme. The Lamborghini Reventn was introduced at the 2007 Frankfort Auto Show. It has the distinction of being the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini to date. The Reventn’s price tag is one million euros ($1.6 million in US currency). Its production is extremely limited with only 20 cars manufactured for sale to the public. An additional car was created specifically for inclusion into the Lamborghini Museum.
It is interesting to note how the Reventn received its moniker. Lamborghini tradition was started and has been maintained that they name their cars after fighting bulls. Reventn was a bull that killed renowned bullfighter, Flix Guzmn in 1943. The translation of Reventn is “he who seems to be about to burst”.
The Reventn’s performance is very powerful. The mechanics are very similar to the Murcilago LP640 sports car. With a 6.5 L (400 cu in) V12 and an output of 640 hp, the Reventn accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed that can be reached is over 340 km/h (210 mph). The speedometer records a top speed of 356 km/h (221 mph). The transmission is 6-speed e-gear or 6-speed manual transmission.
The interior of the Reventn are well appointed. The instrument panel is visually stunning with three TPT liquid crystal displays (LCSs) with two distinct display modes. A solid aluminum block protected by a carbon fiber casing house the instrument. One of the unique new features is the G-Force-Meter. The G-Force-Meter presents the following measurement tools: dynamic drive force, longitudinal acceleration during both acceleration and braking as well as transversal acceleration around bends. The forces are shown on indicator on a graduated 3D grid. This is a similar device that Formula One teams have in their cars to evaluate dynamic forces. By simply pushing a button, the driver can switch to the standard circular instrument panel with speedometer and tachometer. The options for the seats in the Reventn are either black leather or brown Alcantara. The seats design was inspired by modern aircraft cockpits.
The exterior is well designed. The engine hood is made of glass laminate with open ventilation slits. This allows you to see a tantalizing peak at the engine. There is only one color option for the exterior, a “mid opaque grey”. The body style is a 2-door coupe. The wheelbase is 2,665 mm (104.9 in). The length is 4,700 mm (190 in) and the width is 2,058 mm (81.01 in).
Lamborghini’s parent company is Audi and their influence can be seen in the Reventn. This is the first vehicle by Lamborghini to include daylight running lights into the headlamps. There is the Bi-Xenon main beam with headlamps containing seven Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs). While the car is moving, the lights remain lit. Special heatproof LEDs are used for hazard lights, indicator, stoplights and rear light due to the high temperature in the rear lower part of the car.
