Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Day Date
The Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Day Date is one of the newest versions in the Carrera line up. The watch has some of the very distinctive features of past Carrera’s, with some modern updates. The face has a silver toned applied numeral markers, raised markers give the dial a nice contrast and added dimension to the dial. This watch has a Day Date function, featuring a chronograph with three sub dials. It is the great attention to detail that make the difference on this watch, red accent in the seconds sub dial, red tipped chronograph counter, to the red outlined chronograph starter. The day and date window is bold, though not over bearing. Tag Heuer used very clean lines in designing this watch. All these features are protected by scratch resistant sapphire crystal. Most agree that sapphire is better than mineral crystal, which is very prone to swirls and scratches. The bezel is black and includes the Tachymeter scale commonly found in the Carrera line-up.
This Tag Heuer Carrera is powered by Tag’s Calibre 16 automatic movement, with a 42 hour power reserve. nicely visible through the exhibition case back. The Carrera is now in a larger 43mm case, this suits the watch very well. It does not feel to large, especially with the larger watch trend currently. It comes on a bracelet or a black crocodile leather strap.
One thing is for sure, if you liked previous watches in the Carrera series, this one is will not disappoint. The Tag Heuer Day Date Chronograph is water resistant to 100m, has a great fit/finish, and a solid self winding Swiss automatic movement.
