Many People See Private Jet Flights As Luxury

When people think of private jet flights, a lot of them would always connect it with luxury, getting first class service and living the high life. There are typically many perks with these jets but most of them are out of necessity because when a business gets big enough, it makes a lot of overseas or faraway contacts, branching them out to other areas and even other countries. Because of the time difference, executives can simply not abide by regular air travel schedules. Thus, the only options really are getting on a jet that is on standby for exactly that need. What does that mean? The reality is, owning a jet, at least for most businesses, is necessary and not a luxury.

A lot of private jet flights are for industries that are time sensitive. For example, a large news agency will lose business if it is not able to get its staff to a place quickly enough to cover breaking news. Most of them have local correspondents ready, but when a story is big enough, there is a need to call up the big guns and send them to the area. Another example would be international corporations with stores and business centers across the globe, which means that executives need the means to travel at any time of day to attend to businesses in different time zones and even continents.

So, really, owned jets are necessities, and not just luxury. Aside from the real cost of jet flights, cabin crew, airport fees and fuel, there are a lot more costs associated with owning a private plane. Imagine if you buy a private jet for luxury. This would mean that you will be willing to eat up the high costs of private jet management, from maintenance to hangar space rentals, just to enjoy the luxury of having your own plane. That’s all well and good if it’s a small plane, but most private jets used for businesses are pretty big, and the larger the plane the higher the costs that it comes with. Sure, a lot of people have private jets as playthings, but that is just a small percentage of the people who really use jets. The best example of the necessity side of privately owned jets are the many companies that offer time share or per-flight packages for plane rentals. A lot of businesses simply cannot carry the cost of owning an aircraft but need the ability to travel at any time and these companies solve that problem.
